Lesson Plan
Teachers at Jiva realise that time is precious, and that
they have a tremendous amount of responsibility in creating
environments that are conducive to learning. For this reason,
each teacher creates a lesson plan that clearly defines
her learning objectives, activities, appropriate questions,
examples and home-school connection. The lesson plans help
teachers make the most out of the contact time spent with
students.

Activity Calendar
All Jiva teachers plan out various culminating activities
that they perform at the end of each month, which are connected
to their subject objectives. These include conducting elections,
outside expeditions to local places of interest, exhibitions,
interviews and surveys in the neighbourhood.
Observation File
The goal of successful learning is to identify the strengths
and weaknesses of each student and to build on them. Jiva’s
small-sized classes enable teachers to dedicate adequate
time with each learner. Further, the use of learner profiles
helps identify the nature of each student, and guides learners
toward self-understanding, self-improvement and appropriate
career paths. The Observation File includes:
- a fixed profile, which defines the learners’ innate
styles of learning
- daily observations, which provide regular snap shots
of learners in action.
