Solving World Problems with Sadhana
February 28, 2009
Jiva today organised a one-day workshop on Vedic
Education and Philosophy conducted by eminent
Vedic scholar Dr. Satya Narayana Dasa, Director,
Jiva Culture at it headquarters at Faridabad, India.
Attended by selected participants from Canada,
Italy, USA and India, the workshop offered an
insight into the anatomy of fundamental human
problems in the light of ancient Indian philosophy
ingrained in sacred books such as Vedas,
Vedangas, Upnishadas and Puranas.
Dr. Dasa mesmerised the audience with his
soft-worded, lucid explanation of complex
philosophical jargons. During his lecture Dr. Dasa
showed to the participants how the problems faced by
the common men in this busy, modern world of today
such as terrorism, over-consumerism, work-related
stress and economic disparities can be easily solved
with the application of ancient Indian wisdom found
in books as old as 5000 years.
The solution is in considering ourselves as Atma
(souls) rather than Sharira (bodies) and
in being one with Paramatma (the Super
Soul—the God) which can be attained with meditation
(Sadhana).
People who joined in the list of
workshop-participants included Dr. Partap Chauhan,
Director, Jiva Ayurveda; Mr. Steven Rudolph,
Director, Jiva Education and Mr. Rishi Pal Chauhan,
President, Jiva Group.
